Emoji & symbols

A searchable grid of every emoji and symbol, with skin tones and your favorites up front.

Search emoji and symbols, then paste one straight into the app you were using.

Open it with the Search Emoji & Symbols command, or its own global shortcut in Settings → Emoji & Symbols.

Moving around the grid

This is the one screen where all four arrow keys and all four Emacs chords move the selection. Here, F and B step through the grid instead of moving the text cursor.

Moving into the first row scrolls to the very top, so the section title stays in view.

The mouse works too: click, double-click, right-click and hover.

Use the category menu in the header (or P) to show all categories, pinned or frequently used characters, or one category. The number beside each section title is its item count.

Pinned

Pin an emoji or symbol from Actions to keep it at the top of the picker. New pins are added to the end of the section and can be reordered from the same menu or with the keyboard shortcuts above.

Frequently used

The emoji you actually use collect in a section at the top, so they stop needing a search. An emoji there also still appears in its own category.

Skin tone

Settings → Emoji & Symbols → Emoji Skin Tone

Default · Light · Medium Light · Medium · Medium Dark · Dark

It applies to every emoji that supports skin tones, including when you paste.

Your skin tone is one of the settings the Raycast importer brings across.

Grid size

Actions offers Actual Size (⌘0), Zoom In (⌘+) and Zoom Out (⌘-) for six through ten columns. Choose the grid's starting density in Settings → Emoji & Symbols → Column Count; the default is eight.
